Scout is a combat/reconaissance class based around hit and run tactics and sneak attacks. They are equipped with Invisibility Powder, which allows them to turn invisible and disguise themselves as any other player in the game. They also spawn with a Flint and Steel, which can be used to burn down wooden structures (such as stairs in some towers), to gather cooked food quickly and can be a decent emergency combat measure. They can capture flags remotely with arrows, which can make them good candidates for guerrilla tactics.

Special Mechanics

Scout's main abilities are Invisibility and Disguise. Invisibility is activated via rightclicking with the Invisibility Powder. It lasts for 30 seconds and is broken on attacking, using a Flint and Steel or a bucket. The invisibility is absolute - no equipment or anything else is visible. Enemy players can still see the hit indicator when aiming at the Scout and sprint particles can be seen as well. If a scout breaks their invisibility by attackong an enemy, they will always deal 6 HP (3 hearts) of damage regardless of weapon, charge and enemy armor. This ability has cooldown of 2 minutes.

Disguise is activated by left-clicking with the item. A window shows up, where the player can choose who to disguise as. The disguise lasts indefinitely until the Scout dies or hits an enemy. This also has a 2 minute cooldown.

Scout can also capture flags remotely by hitting the glass with an arrow. They can also destroy spawns.

Tips

Invisibility can be used both offensively and defensively.

When using Invisibility to attack, try to coordinate with your allies. Your attack can sow confusion in enemy ranks.

Disguise can be particularly useful in chaotic battles.

Don't drop empty bottles from the Swiftness potion near your spawn.

Trivia

Scout was the first class to recieve a special mechanic - their invisibility.

They also used to have an Reveal ability instead of Disguise. That has since been moved to the item Dust of Appearance.

They were originally meant to be a "saboteur" class to be played similary to how Pirates are sometimes played now.
