Gladiator is a combat class that comes equipped with a Trident. Their special ability, which increases bounties of sucessful players makes them ideal for hunting high value targets. Their Trident is enchated with Riptide I, which disables its throwing function but gives high maneuverability in rain and water. They spawn with a Golden Apple, which gives them an unique combat advantage and makes them very strong in 1v1 battles. Note that because Gladiator doesn't spawn with an axe, using shields against them is usually very effective.

Gladiator is the only class which doesn't spawn with a pickaxe. For balance reasons, they aren't allowed to equip elytra and use an axe as a weapon.

Special Mechanics

See Bounty for more information.

Gladiator has an innate ability which removes the soft bounty cap based on points earned. The 750 point limit still applies. The Gladiator is notified of how many extra points they earned.

They cannot equip elytra. On taking any axe to main hand, a breaking sound will play, signifying that it can't be used as a weapon (and will not break shields). It can be still used to mine blocks and do other axe things.

In Cithare, the Riptide attack (by Gladiator or any other class), can be blocked by a shield. In this case, the defender does not have to face the attacker to block. This is different compared to normal Minecraft, where blocking of Riptide attacks is inconsistent based on orientations of players and critical strikes.

Tips

Gladiator should consider giving low value kills to their allies, since their bounty has very fast scaling.
