Footman is a combat class meant to be played by players with little to no experience in Minecraft. They spawn with leather armor that doesn't drop. They also have a very low bounty base value. As a result, their death has little impact on the game and doesn't hinder their team as long as Footman doesn't get too many kills (roughly 3).

Because this class has a decent combat advantage (because of the armor) and very small bounty, it's considered to be better compared to other classes (compare Footman and General). This is counteracted by a very steep bounty increase for highly successful Footmen. There is a gentleman's agreement in effect that says that players that are at least semi-competent in Minecraft shouldn't pick this class.

This class is currently unpickable and can only by assigned by an admin.

Footman used to start the game with Carved Pumpkin on their head. They have been saved from this fate by the introduction of the Config Tool.
