King is a combat support hybrid class. They have the highest base bounty, which makes them an attractive target on the battlefield. In exchange, a King can teleport teammates to their position, share buffs and destroy spawns. They also spawn with a set of gold armor (and a special Crown) which gives them decent protection. If they aren't the capitain of the team, they are also free to move independently during the Prepare phase.

In King's draft, the King picks players for their team and can choose to appoint a General. They also usually place their spawn point. King can be picked in other modes with a limit of one per team.

Special Mechanics

A King is equipped with a Teleport Wand. This allowes them to teleport a teammate of their choosing to their position after a 5 second delay. This ability has 5 charges, which are recharged only on respawn or via Essence of Magic.

Their passive ability allows them to share effects they get from eating food or drinking potions to all allies within 20 blocks. They can also destroy spawns.

Tips

Teleport Wand can be used both to protect the King and to save a teammate. It also has considerable strategic significance - it can quickly recall a player from a distant position. Remember it only has 5 uses per life - use it sparingly unless in danger.

It is usually worth it to entrust more loot to the King rather than to spread it evenly in the team. Other teammates should sacrifice themselves if it means saving the King. This way, the team loses fewer resources and gives away less points.

Picking a King outside of King's draft is a very risky choice but can lead to powerful warband-like teams. This is especially the case when the team has an Alchemist.

King should be played only by very experienced players.

Trivia

The King can choose to die frivolously to recharge their Teleport Wand, but it's considered bad sportsmanship. (and that is against The Rules)
